From February 3 through February 26, Nahcotta proudly presents the newest body of work from regional artist, Amy Brnger. The opening reception is free and open to the public and will take place at Nahcotta on Friday, February 3, from 5-8 p.m.
Renowned for her verdant, captivating still lifes and bright bouquets, Brnger’s wonderfully poignant oil paintings of cut flowers arranged in myriad vases hearken back to a thoughtful, nostalgic expression of fleeting beauty. There’s something incredibly classical and enchanting about Brnger’s renderings of tulips, dahlias, roses, and lilacs. And for this particular exhibit, many of these paintings are directly inspired by floral arrangements created by Portsmouth, New Hampshire’s own Wanderbird Floral.
Holding a BA and MA from University of New Hampshire and a MEd from Plymouth State University, Brnger is also represented by the Beaux-arts des Ameriques in Montreal, Canada, the Left Bank Gallery in Orleans and Wellfleet, Massachusetts, Edgewater Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, and Maine’s George Marshall Store Gallery. Cards and calendars depicting her flower paintings can be found in stores throughout New England.
