Emma Ashby + Amy Brnger + Kathleen Robbins

For the entire month of July, Nahcotta will be showing the encaustics and oil paintings from three Portsmouth-based artists, Emma Ashby, Amy Brnger, and Kathleen Robbins. On view from July 1 until July 31, the opening reception with the artists will be held on Friday, July 1, from 5-8 p.m., concurrent with Portsmouth’s downtown art walk.

Ashby, lauded for her colorful and enthralling encaustic renderings of lilies, poppies, and ponds, will be exhibiting her seascapes for this show, somewhat of a departure for Ashby, but well within her brilliant and vivid oeuvre. Amy Brnger, who’s shown with the gallery for over a decade, presents her newest collection of oil paintings (predominantly on panel) – joyful landscapes and classically beautiful and timeless florals, while Robbins’ interpretations of the many marshes, rivers, and farms of New Hampshire, rendered on canvas in gorgeous celadons, azures, ultramarines, and cyans, offset the vibrant and rapturous exhibition.
