Having earned a degree in art, Teresa McCue’s initial focus was creating serigraphs using hand cut stencils to study the impact of color. Years later, feeling the need for a change of medium, she stumbled upon pastel and was immediately hooked. Today, in addition to her extensive work in pastel, she is also exploring acrylics. Although there are distinct differences in the imagery produced by these various materials, there is a consistent thread throughout: atmosphere and color are her focus. Always based in nature, succinct compositions underscore a sophisticated use of color and evoke spirituality and serenity. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections nationwide.
This piece is part of Teresa McCue's Remembering series. "The outdoors is my place of renewal. The fresh air, the warmth of the sun, exhilaration from the wind -it all makes me feel alive. This series is a celebration of that feeling, not of any specific place, but an amalgamation of places remembered and the wonder of being immersed in the outdoors. It is my hope that the viewer will find their connection to nature in these paintings."
