Los Angeles based artist Brooks Shane Salzwedel’s art career began using a self-created process after graduating The Art Center Collage of Design in Pasadena, CA, USA 2004. Since then he has exhibited in galleries and museums across the world. He has been the recipient of the Denali National Park, Alaska Artist-in-Residence program and Aspen Colorado Artist-in-residence program. His work focuses on natural and man-made imagery most recently specific to Los Angeles Public Parks. The work is usually mixed media with a transparent quality and use of graphite, tape, and acrylic.
Public parks, ones usually used for cruising yet with conflict of beautiful sweeping views of the city. Using artisan glass and India ink to create detail of silhouettes with a veil of glass to defuse imperfections, not unlike humans.
