Heather Sundquist Hall is an illustrator based in Central Texas. Much of the focus in Heather’s gouache paintings is on the details or the more quiet aspects of the day (or night). It’s the subtle shift in light at sunset she pays homage to, or even the kind of plaid a couch was that was in her grandmother’s house in 1986. These, often overlooked details, become characters in her stories and illuminate memories through new eyes. Her artwork is also an attempt to honor what has been forgotten. Whether it is through her freelance work or her own paintings, Heather’s focus remains on connection and instilling a sense of calm be it through color, imagery or a blend of the two.
Heather's ETA 32 series is paying homage to childhood parties of yesteryear and other good times that came from being a kid on summer vacation. As we get older, we can get so serious that we forget the simple times that were so blissful and freeing. These six pieces are a tribute to those warm late summer nostalgic feeling.
