Chloe Wilson is a painter who lives and works in Salinas, CA. Her work explores the visual melding of the natural world with the factitious, and her current body of acrylic paintings juxtaposes urban and architectural details against moody evening skies. Wilson received her BFA from University of California at Davis in 2010, and has exhibited her work in both group and solo settings.
Chloe's ETA 32 series of paintings incorporates recycled paint salvaged from Wilson’s old palettes. She collects this ‘unusable’ pigment, cuts it up, and reapplies it to her work. These pieces represent her first explorations into closing the material loop of her artistic practice, while also playing with ideas around the physicality of light, paint, and color.
