Erin Gardner is a fiber artist and educator, and the founder of Grey Fox Felting. Erin has been working in the medium of felted wool for over a decade, and she finds joy in sharing this accessible and meditative art form with others through teaching workshops and designing kits. In 2019, she and her husband opened a workshop and retail space and in New Hartford, NY. Erin continues to teach in-person and online workshops, and Grey Fox Felting offers a wide selection of felting supplies and kits for anyone wanting to give felting a try.
Erin's ETA32 collection began as a study of marine mammalian forms, but gradually became more about the idea of the ocean as sanctuary, a deep blue expanse for traveling cetaceans, and for our souls to take refuge in as well. These are glimpses of this expanse; orcas and humpback whales appearing out of the water for just a moment before descending back out of sight. The medium of felted wool is fluid; lending itself to taking the form of the mass of a body, and also sunlit watery depths.
