CW Roelle attended The Maryland Institute College of Art and has, since graduating from there, made over 1200 wire drawings and will, he optimistically presumes, make many more. He lives in a snug house in the woods of western Rhode Island with his wife and twin boys.
"About five years ago I started metal detecting and soon enough fantastic coins, some of which I had never seen before, began poking out of the dirt. Most don't have great value but are always a thrill to find and I wanted to commemorate some of them with a series of coin portraits, these are the first four. I have also for some time been wanting to make small images in large frames and include two here of what I'm sure will be many." - CWR
