Raised in a log cabin in the woods, Kim Ferreira now lives in Portsmouth, NH, a lovely little city by the sea. She has been painting in oils for over twenty years. A formally trained artist, Kim received her Bachelor of fine Arts Degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2002. Soon after she opened an art gallery, Three Graces in downtown Portsmouth, which she owned and operated for ten years. Since the birth of her daughter in 2017, Kim's work has focused on animals doing human things, specifically the things she loves including but not limited to, and in no particular order: baking, flowers, music, nature, travel, books, chocolate, candlelight, teatime, gazing at the stars and moon, her hankie. She published her first book "R is for Rainbow" in 2021 and her follow-up, "JOY", will be available in March of 2024.

This piece is from Kim's October 2023 collection, Joy. "The paintings in this collection are inspired by simple pleasures and the exuberant enjoyment of life, what the French refer to as “joie de vivre”. These small-scale oil paintings feature an array of anthropomorphic woodland animals against a backdrop nodding to french rococo landscapes and celebrate the little things that bring me joy."
