About this collection: "Chasing Blooms"
Growing up, I remember things feeling so magical. We spent endless hours outdoors... riding bikes, building forts, making up fantasy worlds that we lived in until dinnertime. Still today, I am forever rediscovering that sense of wonder out in nature - while hiking, bird watching, or sleeping in hammocks under the stars. This series harkens back to those early years and the sense of magic I have always found in nature. The process involves combining eco-prints and cyanotypes with bright encaustic wax layers. This kind of work always leaves me chasing the wonders of nature - where wildflowers open their faces to the sun and all of life seems simpler and more magical.
