Gretchen grew up near the coast of Maine and played in the woods a lot. She studied art at Bates College and spent one semester in Rome with the Tyler School of Art. She left a graphic design job to be a mom for several years before becoming a professional artist and now works out of her home studio in Westford, MA.

In fact, even though it's abstract work, you might find sunny landscapes and puffy clouds in most of them.
