Amanda Blake received her BA in fine arts from the University of Oregon, studied watercolor in Siena, Italy and oil painting and print making at the Chautauqua Art Institute in New York. Her paintings use symbolism and the imagery of superstitions to explore the idea of fate and the search for meaning in the the world around us. She lives in Eugene, Oregon.
"For this series I decided to return to my beginnings as an abstract painter. Inspired by a return to my hometown and many hours spent in Oregon forests, these pieces take ideas that I had been exploring in the backgrounds of my work and makes them in to the focus." -AB
