Christina Keith is a multidisciplinary artist and educator who creates and teaches outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Christina’s painting process incorporates vintage maps and charts, which lie in-between layers of paint via an acrylic image transfer process. When developing paintings, Christina often works from several photographic references to create a space that lies somewhere between real and imagined.

In this series, Christina finds inspiration from some of her favorite folk songs. When practicing piano as a teen, Christina would save these "fun" songs for the end as a reward for getting through her classical repertoire. While she may no longer be able to do Chopin or Debussy proud, Christina has many fond memories of digging through her dad's old music books and having him join her on guitar and vocals. This set of paintings celebrates the many connections between visual art and music as well as the bonds that can be built through creativity and collaboration.
