Aimee Bonham spent her youth traversing the red desert hills of southern Utah. Later, Aimee moved to northern Utah where she studied painting at Brigham Young University and first became a mother. As life evolved so did her art. This is reflected by her time living in Chicago, then returning to southern Utah, and now southern California. Consequently, her widely shown art, both in public exhibitions and private collections, offers her true personal life story.

About this collection: I paint on birch plywood, often building frames myself. My passion for garage tools merges with art as I paint on 12”x12”wood panels, cutting them to 8”x8” to capture the best parts. The remaining wood scraps are glued together like a collage or even a quilt. The results are puzzle paintings. Uniting the wooden pieces in glue reflects a cycle of deconstruction and reconstruction—an embodiment of overcoming trials, learning from mistakes, and embracing imperfections.
