About This Collection:
Erin's ETA32 collection began as a study of marine mammalian forms, but gradually became more about the idea of the ocean as sanctuary, a deep blue expanse for traveling cetaceans, and for our souls to take refuge in as well. These are glimpses of this expanse; orcas and humpback whales appearing out of the water for just a moment before descending back out of sight. The medium of felted wool is fluid; lending itself to taking the form of the mass of a body, and also sunlit watery depths.
