"I’m interested in the everyday objects that surround us but which are often overlooked. Many of the objects in these paintings were found on the ground. Some came from my pockets, accumulated on my kitchen table, or were grown in my garden. I’m a slow painter and I work from life, which gives me the opportunity to spend long amounts of time with things that were only intended for short-term use. My work explores the connections that develop between objects collected in an assemblage, as well as the human impulse to endow or withhold meaning." - LR
