Sixty-five folk artworks — from Ukrainian pansky eggs to politically charged quilts — made well outside the art schools and institutions. Scratched into cave walls, molded in clay, embroidered onto clothing, painted on scrap cardboard in hours snatched after work, sometimes in secret. The collection asks what counts as art, how it should be made, and who gets to make it.
