Wanru Kemp started academic art training from her father when she was nine. Her style is influenced by the tradition of Chinese landscape painting and literature. She has been experimenting to incorporate the implicit expressions of the East into the Western painting methods. Wanru's recent work is inspired by the North American landscape.

Statement about the Under the Moon collection, in the artist's words: "I like to imagine myself watching night clouds floating over the islands, seeing the moon's reflections sparkling on the beach. Sometimes life can be very hectic, but it's essential to seek beauty from a pause."
