About the Artist

Graham Franciose is an artist and illustrator living and working in Seattle, WA originally from the woods of Central Massachusetts. He works primarily with watercolor, gouache, brush and cotton paper. His work is influenced and inspired by our connection, and disconnection, with nature, as well as the general human experience and all of the things we deal with internally on our own.

About this collection: All of these paintings are stream of consciousness pieces where I attempt to start with a complete blank slate, with no preconceived ideas or imagery, and let the painting form on its own and organically come into being and into meaning. This is my favorite way to work, as I am always surprised at the outcome. It is also a nice break from illustration and commission work where there are guidelines and expectations. For me, this process feels more genuine and representational of my inner being.
