Everything is changing for Carmela: her older sister Franca has fallen in with new, mean friends, and Carmela is left feeling lost and alone. So she sets out to walk — until she can't anymore, and then a little further — until she reaches a strange tower, and what she finds inside changes everything. A companion to The Queen in the Cave, this is renowned illustrator Júlia Sardà venturing into a world where mermaid grease washes away envy, a giant's hair helps you face down bullies, a circular library keeps all your secrets, and a dome of crystal prisms opens onto the cosmos. Her kaleidoscopic patterns, decorative borders, and glowing, elaborately detailed scenes will bewitch young readers as surely as the tower bewitches Carmela — and draw them back for visit after visit.
